Dorsal and Rivaviva
We have given special attention to making sure you get a good night's rest.
Most of the houses have ergonomic beds with wooden slat frames and mattresses and pillows made of “open cell” Talalay latex by Dorsal, masters of sleep technology.

The Oleander Cottage has a double bed and an original dormeuse sofa bed made of wood treated with linseed oil and beeswax with no metal parts, cotton and latex futon mattress. These are hand-made by the firm Rivaviva, experts in creative ecological design.

Sadisapone
The natural dermatological soaps and shampoo are hand-made in Catania by Sabrina Delfino using traditional Mediterranean methods. A basic paste derived from stoned crushed olives is enriched with the finest Sicilian ingredients: natural earths, flowers, spices and fruits.

Lory’s biscuits
Loredana Carere lives in Messina, where she runs her "travelling kitchen" (La Tovaglia Volante - catering and events based on fine home-made dishes) and produces her delicious flower and fruit biscuits that we serve at breakfast.

Tasca d’Almerita's Wines
These large vineyards in the heart of the Sicily have for 150 years pioneered quality Sicilian winemaking using native varieties such as Inzolia and Nero D’Avola as well as experimenting with Chardonnay and Cabernet-Sauvignon. The company produces reds, whites, rosées and an excellent classic sparkling wine.

On the rich volcanic soil of Etna's northern slopes around the towns of Randazzo, Castiglione di Sicilia and Linguaglossa, local vines (Nerello mascalese, Nerello cappuccio and Nerello mantellato) have become the leading protagonists of a boom that has earned the title “Italy's little Burgundy”.

Fattoria Siciliana
The jams served at Borgopetra are made using organically grown produce by a small family farm at Belpasso near Mascalucia.

Frantoio Scalia
In the kitchens of Borgopetra houses guests who choose a one week stay or more will find exquisite Scalia olive oil. The mill in Mascalucia has for generations produced fine extra-virgin oils, cold-pressing the ripe fleshy olives of the Etna foothills.

Apicoltura Bombaci
Iblei mountain honey has been famous since antiquity, especially the one made from satara (timus capitatus), the richly perfumed thyme that grows in the lime soils of Syracuse and Ragusa. At Borgopetra we offer guests thousand flowers, orange zagara and thyme honeys from the Bombaci hives in Sortino (Sr).

Aromatics
Aromatic herbs sprout from every corner of the gardens in Borgopetra, available for use by guests. We buy our herbs and aromatics from the Russino brothers' marvellous nursery at Cava d’Aliga (Ragusa), a specialist in aromatic plants and bottled capers.
